Experience meets innovation | 06-17-2025

15 former AWH employees who have now retired recently visited the Armaturenwerk Hötensleben. The aim of the meeting was to maintain contact with the former colleagues, to honor their achievements and at the same time to promote the exchange between the generations.

The retirees, who have helped shape AWH for decades - some of them since the 1960s - were given a comprehensive insight into the company's current developments during their visit. Selected products were presented at the AWH test stand, including components that were based on earlier developments by the visitors but have since been extensively enhanced or replaced by new solutions to meet changing market and customer requirements.

Conversation with today's product managers and designers led to a lively exchange about technical changes, new applications and experiences from everyday working life at the time. Differences in production technology, norms and standards as well as the requirements of the processing industries were also thematized.

The program was framed by a small exhibition of historical photos and documents from the guests' working lives. Many remembered the early days of the company - in particular the production of the first butterfly valves for the food industry - and shared personal anecdotes and experiences from their active time at AWH.

The visit underlines the close ties between the former employees and the company and shows that experience, expertise and commitment are not tied to an active employment relationship at AWH, but remain a valued part of the company's history and culture.
