Top 100 companies in Saxony-Anhalt | 12-11-2025

On December 4, 2025, Norddeutsche Landesbank (NORD/LB) published its latest report on the 100 largest companies in Saxony-Anhalt for the 2024 financial year. The report not only analyzes the rankings by number of employees and turnover, but also provides a comprehensive overview of the industry structure, regional focal points, and economic development in the state.

The analysis focuses on the manufacturing sector, which, with 45 companies and around one-third of all employees, continues to play a leading role among Saxony-Anhalt's largest employers. This is followed by the service sector and the transport & logistics sectors. The study also highlights that the largest companies are mainly located in the urban centers of Magdeburg and Halle, while the districts of Harz and Börde are also important industrial locations. Despite a slight decline in the total number of employees among the top 100 companies, there is a positive trend among new entrants and in the development of individual industries, particularly in manufacturing and the chemical industry. For the current year, many companies expect a moderate increase in employment and sales.
